The Football League was suspended after 3 games 1939-40. These three matches were later expunged from official records. He played all three of these games and also in the Harry Hibbs Testimonial Match against Birmingham.

Iverson also played with Villa during World War 2. (178 - 61 goals)
He also guested for Birmingham City, Bournemouth, Kidderminster, Leicester, Northampton Town, Notts County, Nottingham Forest and Sutton Town during World War 2.

When he retired he became reserve/youth-team coach at Villa Park. He was later first team coach and fourth team coach.
